Tim See Workshops - March 2024

Tim See is a ceramic artist from Syracuse, NY specializing in wood fired porcelain and industrial inspired design. With over 20 years of experience, Tim has proven himself to be an effective and enthusiastic educator who actively seeks to support and facilitate the artistic growth of others. Within his workshops, Tim tailors content to fit the needs, skill levels, and interests of participants while cultivating a fun and supportive environment to learn.

I am excited to host two workshop opportunities in March 2024. Both workshops will be held in-person in Tallahassee, FL at the LeMoyne Arts ceramic studio. In addition to our time in the studio, social gatherings will be available throughout the week.

March 12-15, 2024: 4-Day Beginners Wheel Throwing Workshop ($950 per person)

  • Clay and basic tools will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own tools or use studio tools.

  • Recommended for all skill levels including individuals new to pottery, those learning Tim’s techniques for the first time, and more experienced potters seeking to strengthen and practice skills.

  • Topics include centering, super centering, multiple ways of pulling a wall, bowls, plates, mugs, vases, pitchers, double walled vessels, pots of all types, section throwing, throwing large, handles, wedging, kiln loading, throwing off the hump, studio safety, business and marketing, creativity and the most important part - having fun and enjoying ourselves while we grow and learn together as artists.

  • Workshop can be taken on its own, or as a lead in the Intermediate Workshop

March 16-17, 2024: 2-Day Intermediate Wheel Throwing Workshop ($495 per person)

  • Clay and basic tools will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own tools or use studio tools.

  • Recommended for individuals with prior wheel-throwing experience, having a working knowledge of the ceramics process, and are comfortable centering, opening, and pulling a cylinder on the wheel.

  • The Intermediate Workshop will cover many of the same topics as the Beginners Workshop, but will focus on improving existing skills, introducing more advanced techniques, and troubleshooting concern points participants have with their current methods.

  • This workshop can be taken on its own, or as an extension of Beginners Workshop.
